Trip to KC!

We made it back to Texas...finally!!  I was gone for 2 weeks.  When booking the trip, I felt like I would be back there forever, but it went by way too quickly.  I am happy to be home though and attempting to get the house clean/decorate for Christmas now.  I am just now becoming aware that it is DECEMBER.  That is really scary, because guess what comes after Dec?  JANUARY...meaning Grayson is here!  I have so much to do it's not even funny.  Plus I am a giant procrastinator so this is difficult for me when wrestling with nesting instincts haha.

Alright first of all: updates on the baby.  I am now 33 weeks (!!) and he is the size of a honeydew.  I went to the doctor yesterday, and everything checked out great.   His heartbeat was strong, and Dr. Read said he didn't think that he was going to be as big as they had originally expected.  He estimated him to be weighing in the 4 pound range, and told me not to be concerned with my size.  He said that I just carry more in the flank (whatever that means) than out front which makes me look smaller than most at 33 wks.  Regardless, the belly is definitely growing, and getting more and more uncomfortable by the day.  My book says he is averaging out to be gaining about half a pound a week and could grow a whole inch this week.  It seems as though he has no more room...you can definitely see my stomach move and he is still jabbing my ribs.  Only 49 days to go!

So we had lots to do in Kansas when we headed back!  I flew back on November 16 with Jayme and the boys.  That is an experience to say the least.  We learned our lesson, and put Will in his carseat for the flight home.  SO MUCH SMOOTHER!  While at home, I had a baby shower, saw friends, had a birthday party for Max, saw Breaking Dawn and Muppets, relaxed, celebrated Thanksgiving with both Grays and O'Bryans, played with the nephews, bought our DSLR camera (love it by the way...now I just have to learn how to use it before little one gets here).  Sad news was that I was not really allowed to be near Patrick :(  He had Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease and apparently can be contagious for up to 6 weeks.  It's pretty dangerous for a pregnant person to get it, so I wasn't allowed to touch him.  Plus, the death bug...that's what I'm calling the flu that was going around....hit my brother's house, so I didn't get to see them very much either!  They even had to miss Thanksgiving, so that was pretty sad.

Baby Shower news:  My shower was fantastic!  It was thrown by my sister in law Jayme, and friends Stefanie and Brandy.  They did such an amazing job!!  They themed it with the colors of Grayson's room (baby blue, black, and white).  It was so pretty and well thought out.  Little details all over the place really made it special, and I cannot thank the girls enough for throwing it for us!  All of our friends and family were SO generous, and we could not even fit everything in my Durango to bring back to TX!   Thank you to everyone who could be there, and everyone who was there in spirit!

My mom had this gorgeous cake made!

Grayson is going to be ready for March Madness!!

This blanket was a gift from Grandma O'Bryan-it used to be Jason's dads!  So sweet to give it to Grayson :)

Now, we also had a birthday party for Max while we were home!  He turned 3, and we were all able to get together and celebrate for the first time!  I also got to use my new camera for the first time, so that was fun.  It was a Scooby Doo themed party, and the kids all had a ball.

Alright, that is all for now!

30 weeks

10 more weeks to go!!  Yaaa!!  I had a dr. appointment yesterday, and everything went GREAT!  My placenta is officially no longer previa (too low) and I am no longer going to need a c-section!  Very happy about that one.  Well, I say that.  As long as nothing goes wrong during delivery.  But it won't have to be scheduled, so that's very good news!  We got to see him again on the ultrasound, and he's getting so big!  His little profile still looks the same, just bigger.  It was so amazing, during the sonogram she had it on his face and you could see his little mouth moving.  This little man moves A LOT and literally did some sort of a flip during the process, making my whole stomach move.  He weighed in at 3 lbs. 13 oz.  Dr. Read said he was in the 60th percentile, being closer to babies that are about 32 weeks.  I don't really believe my books anymore because they keep telling me different things about "average size" and whatnot.  My book says that average weight for a baby at 31 weeks is 2.5 pounds.  Hmm.  Anyway, he's healthy so that's all that matters!  The ultrasound tech told me he's head down with his feet on the right side of my stomach.  This explains so much.  He is constantly kicking his feet up into my ribs on the right side.  So uncomfortable!  Yesterday he was kicking my rib again, and I could actually feel him when I touched my side...so I pushed back.  He then kicked me again!  Apparently he didn't like me telling him what to do-this could be an indicator of what is to come, especially if he's like his mommy :)

I forgot to mention in the last few posts that I think my back pain is almost gone!  Soo thankful for that!  I had gotten to the point where I literally couldn't walk without help.  We were more than afraid that this was going to last until delivery.  I got really lucky and it really only bothers me at the end of the day when I've been on my feet a lot!

One piece of bad news we got:  we are not going to be able to go to San Antonio for Christmas this year :( Jason's sister Jayme and her family are down there for hockey season, and we were going to be meeting all of the O'Bryan family down there Christmas Eve.  My doctor said that he just doesn't advise going that far away when I'm full term.  Understandable, but still kind of a bummer.  That's what Skype is for!

Here are some picture updates:

The picture quality of these are not the best, they are really glossy this time for some reason.

Bailey is eating a bone in that picture, not throwing up-just FYI.

Alright, I'm heading to KC tomorrow for 2 weeks!  I'm pretty excited!  Jayme and the boys are driving up here tonight, then we fly out together tomorrow morning.  I won't do a new blog post until I get back, so don't expect anything until about the 33 week mark.  There will be lots of fun updates though with pictures from my shower, Thanksgiving, and whatever else.

29 weeks

I am behind on updating, so this one is going to be short!  This week, average crown to heel length is 14.4 inches and average weight is 1.9 lbs.  Grayson passed that a long time ago, so I have no clue how much he weighs.  I have an appointment on Monday with a sonogram to check the progress of my placenta placement, so I'll find out how big he is then!  I have started feeling him hiccup, which I find incredibly cute.  Jason hasn't been home when this has happened, but it's fun.  It's like little rhythmic taps on my stomach.  Speaking of stomach, I have popped out a lot lately!  Finally looking pregnant, ya!  There's definitely no hiding it anymore, even in loose clothes.  Nursery is getting closer and closer to finishing.  The crib is all put together.  I put the bedding in it, but will wait to put pics up until we buy our mattress so it actually looks normal.  The glider came in last weekend too!  Love how it's all coming together.  We are refinishing my old dresser, and are in the process of doing that now.  Hopefully we will finish that this week so that I can start putting clothes away.  Alright that's all for now.  Here's some pic updates:
