Finished Nursery...Finally!!

I finally finished his nursery!!  I know, it's about time.  I am really really happy with the way that it turned out!

Looking into his room from the hallway

So there it is!  It's not very "babyish" which is exactly what I wanted.  I am not a huge fan of the boys stuff that they have out there...it's all firetrucks and airplanes.  Sooo I went with sports (hopefully he likes sports ha) but with more of a vintage theme.  I love the way the colors turned out, and am really happy with it!!  Now we just need a baby to put in it!!

Yesterday was the 19th of December, and my dute date is Jan 19..so do the math!  Craziness.  I have been feeling pretty good recently.  Starting to get more and more uncomfortable, which is to be expected.      I had my 35 week appointment last week, and everything went pretty well.  My nurse was concerned about my size and measured my belly at 30 cm (it's supposed to coincide with how many weeks you are-so I should be 35cm).  My doctor came in after that, and basically poked around at my stomach and said he was head down and felt good, then left.  I went home thinking everything was great, then got a voicemail the next day from a nurse saying that Dr. Read wanted to do a sonogram.  Freaked me out!!  I called back and was only able to talk to the front desk lady...I told her to have a nurse call me back to explain what was going on.  FINALLY at the end of the day she calls me back and said that they basically just have to make sure that the baby is growing correctly and all of his measurements are okay since I am measuring small.  She was very reassuring, but it definitely scared me all day!  Of course, I had been on google and saw worst case scenarios as to why people measure the way they do and about made myself sick all day while I was waiting.  Ugh.  I feel better now, but hopefully they'll do the sono and everything will be fine.  It confused me though because they had always said he was big, now all of the sudden they think he's not growing....I don't know.  We'll see next Wednesday.

Here's me at 35 weeks:

Christmas is this weekend!  How is it already here?!  It's just starting to hit me we really actually won't be back in KC this year.  It's going to be really sad :(  There is a methodist church near our house that does a candlelight Christmas Eve service just like our church back home, so that'll be nice.  Then O'Bryan's will be here, so it'll still be good, just different!  We will Skype with my family during present time Christmas Eve.  I need to get stocking stuffers for the doggies so we have something to open Christmas morning!  Alright that's about all, I'll update next week after I get info about little man's growth!  Merry Christmas!

34 Weeks

Six weeks to go!  38 days to be exact :)  Our day by day pregnancy book does a countdown for us.  We are getting so so so excited to meet this little guy!!  I am definitely in the stages of pregnancy where I am ready for it to be DONE.   I feel like I have been pregnant forever.  Nine months is a long time!  Plus, it's actually ten not nine.  I am starting to get more and more uncomfortable and well aware that I have a giant baby inside of my stomach.  He is running out of room, so I feel absolutely every movement.  Don't get me wrong, it's fun at times....but he moves alllll the time.  I'm hoping this is not an indicator of his sleep habits when he decides to come see us!

34 weeks

Baby info this week:  He is basically the length he will be at birth (around 20 inches...how that is fitting inside me is beyond me), about 5ish pounds, and his little fingernails are fully grown.   The pupils now fully dilate to light.  He's still able to flip back and forth, but I'm pretty sure he's stuck in the head down position now.  Depending on which way he's facing, I can feel his feet either on my left or right rib cage.  We now have pushing games where I literally can push his feet away from my ribs...Jason finally felt this yesterday and I think it freaked him out a little bit haha.

The nursery is going to be completely finished this week!  Yeah!  I feel as though I have procrastinated on this a bit, since I have seen friends on facebook put pics of their nursery up and they are at like the 22 week mark....oh well.  I am absolutely obsessed with it.  It's turned out exactly how I wanted it to and is so cute!!  I am waiting on a couple of things to get shipped to me, and we have to put up a couple of shelves, then I'll post pics :)

We also had a shower thrown for us by Jason's coworkers at ClineWood.  It was really sweet!  Jason's office here in TX only has six people that work in it, so we had a "skype shower" with the Kansas City office.  It was pretty funny....they were all really great and got us some great gifts.

Skype!

Alright that is about all for now.  I have moved on to appointments every 2 weeks now, and I have one this Wed.  I think after that I am onto weekly appointments!  Crazy!  Hopefully the stuff for the nursery will be in and I can post pics of the finished product by this weekend!

Trip to KC!

We made it back to Texas...finally!!  I was gone for 2 weeks.  When booking the trip, I felt like I would be back there forever, but it went by way too quickly.  I am happy to be home though and attempting to get the house clean/decorate for Christmas now.  I am just now becoming aware that it is DECEMBER.  That is really scary, because guess what comes after Dec?  JANUARY...meaning Grayson is here!  I have so much to do it's not even funny.  Plus I am a giant procrastinator so this is difficult for me when wrestling with nesting instincts haha.

Alright first of all: updates on the baby.  I am now 33 weeks (!!) and he is the size of a honeydew.  I went to the doctor yesterday, and everything checked out great.   His heartbeat was strong, and Dr. Read said he didn't think that he was going to be as big as they had originally expected.  He estimated him to be weighing in the 4 pound range, and told me not to be concerned with my size.  He said that I just carry more in the flank (whatever that means) than out front which makes me look smaller than most at 33 wks.  Regardless, the belly is definitely growing, and getting more and more uncomfortable by the day.  My book says he is averaging out to be gaining about half a pound a week and could grow a whole inch this week.  It seems as though he has no more room...you can definitely see my stomach move and he is still jabbing my ribs.  Only 49 days to go!

So we had lots to do in Kansas when we headed back!  I flew back on November 16 with Jayme and the boys.  That is an experience to say the least.  We learned our lesson, and put Will in his carseat for the flight home.  SO MUCH SMOOTHER!  While at home, I had a baby shower, saw friends, had a birthday party for Max, saw Breaking Dawn and Muppets, relaxed, celebrated Thanksgiving with both Grays and O'Bryans, played with the nephews, bought our DSLR camera (love it by the way...now I just have to learn how to use it before little one gets here).  Sad news was that I was not really allowed to be near Patrick :(  He had Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease and apparently can be contagious for up to 6 weeks.  It's pretty dangerous for a pregnant person to get it, so I wasn't allowed to touch him.  Plus, the death bug...that's what I'm calling the flu that was going around....hit my brother's house, so I didn't get to see them very much either!  They even had to miss Thanksgiving, so that was pretty sad.

Baby Shower news:  My shower was fantastic!  It was thrown by my sister in law Jayme, and friends Stefanie and Brandy.  They did such an amazing job!!  They themed it with the colors of Grayson's room (baby blue, black, and white).  It was so pretty and well thought out.  Little details all over the place really made it special, and I cannot thank the girls enough for throwing it for us!  All of our friends and family were SO generous, and we could not even fit everything in my Durango to bring back to TX!   Thank you to everyone who could be there, and everyone who was there in spirit!

My mom had this gorgeous cake made!

Grayson is going to be ready for March Madness!!

This blanket was a gift from Grandma O'Bryan-it used to be Jason's dads!  So sweet to give it to Grayson :)

Now, we also had a birthday party for Max while we were home!  He turned 3, and we were all able to get together and celebrate for the first time!  I also got to use my new camera for the first time, so that was fun.  It was a Scooby Doo themed party, and the kids all had a ball.

Alright, that is all for now!
