Five Months!

Grayson is five months old!  So big!  He is getting to be so much fun!  I love seeing his little personality shine more and more each day.  He definitely is his daddy-he's got my blue eyes, that's about it.  I love when Jason is holding him, they look so much alike!  He can roll over, and basically won't ever stay on his back anymore (unless you put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...it's his fav).  He's so cute when you put on that show-his face lights up and he gets so excited.  When he's super excited about something, he does this little shake, almost like a shiver goes through him and then he squeals.  Pretty cute if you ask me.

Here's some five month info:

Weight: Not on a doctor scale, but when I weighed him with me he was about 17 lbs!

Height: Don't know-tall

Hair: a light brown color-mainly growing in the middle...definitely rocks the faux hawk

Started rolling at about 4 1/2 months regularly

Laughs all the time, loves giving everyone big old gummy smiles

No teeth as of yet, but drools alllll the time

LOVES his dogs-gets so excited when Bailey and Riley are around him, he thinks they are just hilarious

Wears a variety of sized clothes-mainly 6 month stuff, but can still fit into some 3-6 month, and can wear some 9 month, depending on the brand.  Wears 6 month Jammies (he probably could wear 9 month jammies if I tried them on...he's REALLY long people...and he may or may not have a buddha belly)

We went to the pool for the first time: he loved it!  He loves his bathtime, so I figured he would like the pool

Still hates his paci, but will stick his whole hand in his mouth

Eats about 6 or 7 oz per feeding every few hours.  Only nurses at his morning and evening feedings now

Sleeps from around 8:30 or 9 until anywhere from 5-8...he's unpredictable :)  Nice thing is, when he wakes up, he eats then goes right back to sleep for 2 more hours.

Naps:  About 4 a day.  This is very unpredictable too-never know how long he'll sleep.  Sometimes it's 20 minutes, sometimes it's 3 hours (that's rare).  He has an early morning nap, then late morning.  Then early afternoon, then late afternoon.  Basically he's awake for 2-3 hours, then needs to go back to sleep!

Had his first babysitters, Peyton and Parker, on May 15 when we went to the Byron Nelson Golf Tourney for the day

I am currently watching him on his video monitor talking and looking around...and Bailey just walked in and put her paws up on his crib.  Good work B.

Loves his toys, especially his Sophie giraffe, his crinkly dog book, and his rings.  EVERYTHING goes in his mouth

Had rice cereal for the first time on June 2-he was NOT a fan.  See pic:

At his baptism, pretty pumped about it really...

They even have the same expression on their face!

First time testing out the high chair-he looks pretty proud of himself

Dinner at the Keg-doesn't he looked super excited to be there??

Doesn't sit still for long!

Cannot express how obsessed I am with this little boy!!  Love you Grayson, happy 5 months!!

Baptism Day!

Grayson had his baptism in Overland Park on May 27!  We went back to have it done at my home church, Church of the Resurrection.  We decided it would be better to just do it up there so that everyone didn't need to travel all the way down to Texas!  Worked out great.  He looked super cute, and did not cry...so I was happy! :)  He got a little fussy during the service (it was right during his naptime) so Jason took him out for a little bit, and he fell sound asleep.  When we brought him up to the stage, he was OUT.  He was still sleeping when we handed him to the pastor.  He definitely woke up when she started putting water on his head!  It was pretty cute really.  He was then up for the rest of the service, and in a GREAT mood!  Smiling at everyone and having a fabulous time.   Of course, I left our camera in the car.  I also forgot to put shoes on Grayson....Mom of the year right here :)

After the baptism, we had a brunch for everyone at the O'Bryan's house.  It was nice and easy-picked up Gates BBQ, and had a good time with friends and family.  Grayson stayed awake pretty much the whole time, which was nice because a lot of people hadn't met him yet.  We love heading back to KC to see everyone and had a great time!

4 month old baby boy!

Grayson turned four months old on May 4.  I know I say it every month, but I can't believe how fast it's going!  It's crazy to me that he is growing up so fast!  He definitely is no longer our little tiny baby.  He's becoming more and more of a little boy each day.  Obviously he's still really little in the grand scheme of things, but we see little newborns around and he looks so big compared to them!  We went to the doctor on Monday, and he is doing just fabulously.  He is hitting all of his milestones, and they said he's probably the cutest baby they've ever seen...k I might have made up the last part, but I'm pretty sure they were thinking it :)

Grayson's 4 month stats:

Weight: 15lbs 6oz. (59th percentile)

Height: 27" (97th percentile...tall baby!)

I can't find my sheet for the head circumference, but it was like 57th percentile

Rolled over for the first time on April 30 (while on facetime with my parents!) from tummy to back

Sleeps about 8-9 hours a night (yea!) buuttttt still may or may not be in our room (oops) Swear we're going to work on that this weekend :)  At least he naps in his own room...bad mom move oh well :)

Becoming pretty clingy-I make him sit by himself and he's not a fan.  He likes being in his Moby or just hanging out while we hold him.  Not good!

Started a new thing a few weeks ago where he arches his back and tries to get out of his carseat when you're strapping him in.  Bit of a 'tude on this child already!!  This applies to everything.  If he doesn't want to nurse-arch the back, doesn't want to sit in his bouncy-arch the back...you get the idea.  Here's proof:

For the most part, he's an awesome baby and so so so much fun!  Some pics from this month:

Baby loves him some bathtime!

Amazed by his new bouncer

Feet don't quite hit the ground yet :)

"Play with me Grayson!!"

This is when he's smiling the biggest, just big old open mouth grin :)

How do you resist that little face?!

Love this baby more and more each day!  Happy four months little man!

Easter 2012

This year, we spent Easter in San Antonio with Jason's sister's fam, his mom, and his little sister.  We were so happy to get to spend Easter with family this year!  It made it especially fun since it was Grayson and Ryane's first Easter.  Jason and I drove down on Friday afternoon.  We got to see Mark play on Saturday night, which was really fun!  This was my first hockey game too!  Grayson was mesmerized by all of the lights and activity going on around him.

The next day we got up and went to the early church service with all of the kids.  This was Grayson's first time at church, and he did very well.  Once again, he loved the music!  He took a bottle and fell asleep halfway through the service.

At their church, they have a giant carousel in the narthex!  It was really neat, and all the kids obviously loved it :)

We went back to Jayme's and had brunch, then headed back home!  It was a quick trip, but really fun!

Grayson and Ryane's first Easter!

I was slightly obsessed with this hat :)

3 months!

Little man turned 3 months on April 4!  He is getting to be so much fun.  He is so alert, doing lots of talking/cooing, and LOTS of smiles!  When he gets really excited, he does a big open mouth grin at you...it's pretty cute.  He can hold up his head really well, but gets wobbly if you hold him on your hip too long. :)  He is absolutely is obsessed with TV.  When he's crying, you can go stand next to the TV and he'll just stare in awe.  He's starting to like toys, and is interested in anything that flashes or makes noise.  When we were in KC, he was sitting in his little vibrating chair at my parents house, and reached out for the toys for the first time.  Genius baby if you ask me.

This little guy still loves music!  He doesn't like when it's quiet-he sleeps with a sound machine (big surprise with me and Jason for parents) and goes to sleep a lot of the time with music playing!  We still are not on any kind of a sleep schedule...we're going to start working on that this month.  He goes to sleep anytime from 8-11 or 11:30.  Depends on his mood!  Then he'll sleep til about 7-7:45.  Definitely sleeping through the night now, and not by a fluke occurrence!  He basically never wakes up in the middle of the night anymore, which is awesome!  When we were back in KC last week, he started waking up around 3am, but I think it was because he was in a new place.  I ended up just letting him squirm around and talk, and he'd go back to sleep after a bit without having to eat.

3 month stats:

Weight: Around 14 lbs. I think (doubled his birth weight!!)

Eats about 4-6 ounces per feeding (when bottle fed)

Sleeping through the night

Just got his first cold :(  Poor baby can't breathe

Doesn't really wear shoes, but when he does it's the smallest size...not sure what size that is :)

Size 1 diaper

Wearing 0-3 and 3-6 month clothing, depending on the brand

Here's our little guy at 3 months:

He's starting to get a lot of dark hair!  His hair is growing in crazy fast, and really thick (thank goodness, he's not getting my thin hair!).  He's definitely inherited my blue eyes though, which is pretty much my only claim on this baby...he's pretty much all Jason!
