15 weeks

Honestly, it seems crazy to me that I'm already 15 weeks!  The time has really flown.  Aaaanddd only four more weeks til we find out what we're having!  Yeah!!!  I am trying not to keep my hopes up TOO much because this will be the 19 week appointment, and there is a definite possibility they won't be able to tell.  Especially since our little one seems to move a lot..might not get a clear shot of what we need to see!

Found that icon, loved it, decided I will use it for my "bumpdates"

1.  I feel bigger, but you can't really tell a whole lot of difference:

2.  Slowwlllyyyyy starting to feel better.  I had a really good couple of days, then went downhill again.  I've been told that is how this works.  I'll just start to have fewer "bad" days and more good ones.

3.  Medicine update:  I didn't really like the Zofran.  Kept me up, and I still got sick.  Unsuccessful.  The other kind (not sure the name) helps a little more.  It makes me sleepy though so I can only take it before bed.  I didn't take anything last night, and didn't get sick.  Woo hoo!

4.  What I miss:  Deli sandwiches :(  I used to eat turkey sandwiches all the time.  I don't like warm deli sandwiches, so I'm just out of luck.

5.  Baby size:  an orange!  Aww....and he/she can yawn.  I find that incredibly cute.

6.  Cravings:  haven't had that many!  I did REALLY want candy the other night, so Jason ran up to the store and brought me back a whole array of stuff.  This is only a bit, I originally had 2 boxes of Nerds, 2 giant Sweet Tarts, and another Spree.  :)

7.  I am on the email list for Babies R Us (even though I despise that store more than anything...I get overwhelmed, and can't find anything.  First time I went in there for a shower gift I was there an hour and a half for one present.  Ridiculous.)  ANYWAYS, I am on their email list, and got a coupon for $8 off any value pack of Pampers.  Pretty good deal, and I planned to use their Swaddlers anyway.  So Jason and I made our first purchase.  We got our little newborn diapers, then there was also a coupon for $3 off wipes.  PLUS an in store deal for 50% off value box of wipes when you buy a value box of diapers.  We ended up saving like $25 total!  I should be on extreme coupon.  Anyway, we got home and this is what happens when Jason wants to practice diapers:

Don't tell PETA.

I almost forgot!!

The BEST part of our doctors appointment the other day....we have our next sonogram scheduled to find out if we're having a boy or girl!!  Can't believe I forgot to write that in my last post!  We will find out on Wednesday, August 24.  If you can't tell, I'm really excited and anxious!!  I am, however, a little sad about the fact that we find out the 24th and the Nordstrom Anniversary sale ends Aug. 1.  Just sayin.  I looked at their baby section, oh my goodness.  I could do damage.  Probably a good thing that we won't know yet, really!  I am so ready to decide how we are going to do the nursery/buy bedding/and the most fun...clothes!  Gotta know whether to buy bows or hair gel for a tiny faux hawk.  Who am I kidding...my kid is going to be bald til they're 3.  (My mom used to tape little hair bows to my head so people would know I was a girl).   I don't think I started looking like I had real hair until I was about 2 or 3, and it was blonde so even then it was hard to see :)

Alright, that is the news I almost forgot.  Get excited for August 24th!  In the meantime, I feel like I haven't given our first babies any love on here recently, so here there are!

Here's the little missy sleeping on a blanket that is on our table...good choice

And we're the two best friends that anyone could have!!

14 weeks

Today is the 14 week mark!  Exciting!  I get excited at each new week though so Thursday's are always fun!  I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and everything went really well.  We heard the heartbeat for the first time, and it was at 144 bpm.  The nurse said that was really good.  She also said that our little one was moving all over the place.  Again.  We are so screwed, I know we are going to have a super hyperactive child.  Maybe he/she just really likes the vibrations from the Doppler?   That's what I'm gonna keep telling myself.  I don't care, they can be as hyper as they want...it'll be just be more fun and interesting for Jason and I!  :)  I actually lost a pound from my 10 week appointment until yesterday's.  Dr. Read wasn't concerned about it.  I guess it's only a problem if you lose 10% of your body weight, so that was reassuring.  I knew I hadn't really gained since I've been SO SICK!  8pm rolls around, and generally I go wayyy downhill.  I have good nights, but they are few and far between.  Here is a pic this morning at 14 weeks.  I really should work on having Jason take the pic and maybe put on something besides running shorts/tshirts.  I'll work on that.

As you can see, not a whole lot of progress in the bump department.  It's there, it's just smaller than most right now.  I've actually gone back on friends' blogs and looked at their 14 week pics, and it made me kinda sad because I am nowhere near what they were! :(   A lot were already in maternity wear, which I am not.  If not in maternity wear, they were at least wearing the Bella Band with their shorts/pants.  Everything still fits me the same.  I guess I shouldn't complain, but I really want it to pop out already!!

So, I told the doctor how sick I had been.  The nurse gave me these things called "Tranquil Tummy Crackers."  They were HORRIBLE.  I tried them last night.  Absolutely awful.  Pretty sure they did not help, and actually made me throw up.  Worst things ever.  They look like Cheez Its so I was hopeful, but nope.  Disgusting.    I do not recommend them for anyone.  Ever.  They did however give me a prescription that is safe for me to take for nausea.  I'm going to try it for the first time tonight and see if it helps.  I'll keep ya posted.

We went home last weekend for our BVN Class of '01 Reunion.  Not as exciting as I had hoped!  It was fun to see everyone, but it got old pretty quick.  A: I couldn't drink.  B: It was a bajillion degrees outside (did I mention it was an outdoor event?) and C: well...can't think of a C.  We didn't get home until almost 2am which caused this girl to be super sick the entire drive back to Texas the next day.  Blah.  I feel like I am still recovering.  No more late nights til this baby is out!!

On a fun note, we got a stroller and car seat!!  This was our first purchase for little Baby O, so I was really excited.  My mom, Jason, Terry, and I went to a sale at USA Baby on Saturday morning while we were in town.  Jason was game because we were doing First Watch after the baby store.  We were there early, and scored an awesome deal on our stroller/car seat.  I'm about as excited about our stroller as when I got Louboutins for my birthday...oh change in priorities.

Pics taken from my cell, so not the clearest but you get the idea.  The seat is so little!  Love the black and white...cute for boy or girl :)  Can't wait to put our little monkey in it!  Thank you to Terry and my mom for our fabulous stroller!  Baby O will look very fashionable in it.  Alright that's all for now!

The news is out!!

FINALLY!!  It feels like Jason and I have been keeping this baby news a secret FOREVER.  We probably wouldn't have waited to the 11 week mark had we lived closer to our parents.  We both really wanted to see our parents reactions in person, so it was worth it to us to keep it a secret until we headed home!  First of all, we did tell a few people before our families were in on the secret.  I told my best friends Laura and Carrie pretty much right when I found out (I had to tell someone, it was driving me crazy).  So here's how we told everyone the news:
We were planning on waiting until we got home to tell everyone, but my dad decided last minute to stop in Dallas for a few days on a business trip.  I had been feeling horrible, and pretty much sick every single night so there was no way we could keep it a secret for the 4 days he was here.  Worked out well that he was coming the weekend before father's day...so I told him with his father's day present!  I got him a wallet (his was in sad shape) and put our first sonogram picture in it.  He was really excited and wanted to call my mom immediately...but he had to keep it a secret now too!!  So he had 2 weeks to keep his mouth shut, which I'm sure was pretty hard for him.  We planned a dinner with my mom, dad, brothers, Courtney, and Patrick.  We had a private room at Hereford House (luckily I was over my meat aversion by the time this dinner came around).  My dad made a speech, as he does sometimes, and then I gave Patrick a little onesie that said "This little monkey is going to be a big cousin."  I think my mom was the only one that was really shocked, which I found really funny.  She immediately started crying.  Christopher, Brett, and Courtney were surprised, but not really...I think they knew it was coming.  I know Christopher did.  Wish I had gotten pictures, oops!!

After dinner, we headed back to the O'Bryan's house.  Jason had gotten a card for his mom with a gift card towards a flight to Dallas.  He wrote something along the lines of "After you go visit new baby Cullen, use this to get a flight up to Dallas to see new baby O'Bryan."  Jayme found out Mark will be in San Antonio for the season this year, so they will be close!  Ya!  Jordyn was in town, and she already knew...so it was mainly excitement from his mom and dad.  Sooo happy everyone knows!!

On another note:  this past week I went up to Minnesota with Brett, Courtney, Christopher, and Patrick to spend a weekend at Courtney's parents lakehouse.  It was beautiful up there!  It was such a nice departure from the 105 degree TX weather to 75-80 degrees every day.  We didn't even need air conditioning!  The house was all opened up, and I slept better than I had my entire pregnancy so far.  Fresh air does wonders.  It was such a great trip, and I really got to get to know Patrick's little personality.  He is the sweetest baby in the world!  He'll be serious staring you down and all you have to do is say hi to him and he'll break out in a huge smile.  So cute.  Here are some pics from our trip:

I also have been really bad about getting more belly pics.  I really planned on doing them every week...but I have forgotten a couple of weeks.  Oh well.  So here are a few in a row!

                                                           9 weeks...I call it a lump, not a bump

10 weeks, kind of dark sorry

12 weeks, first trimester done!  Big milestone

I definitely see a difference from 10 weeks to 12.  I am hoping it pops out really soon and I have definitive bump so people can actually tell that I'm pregnant!  Okay..that is all I have for now.  Sorry for the wordy post, I will try to not bunch so much stuff in at once next time!  Glad everyone can stay updated on the baby now from far away!
