15 weeks

Honestly, it seems crazy to me that I'm already 15 weeks!  The time has really flown.  Aaaanddd only four more weeks til we find out what we're having!  Yeah!!!  I am trying not to keep my hopes up TOO much because this will be the 19 week appointment, and there is a definite possibility they won't be able to tell.  Especially since our little one seems to move a lot..might not get a clear shot of what we need to see!

Found that icon, loved it, decided I will use it for my "bumpdates"

1.  I feel bigger, but you can't really tell a whole lot of difference:

2.  Slowwlllyyyyy starting to feel better.  I had a really good couple of days, then went downhill again.  I've been told that is how this works.  I'll just start to have fewer "bad" days and more good ones.

3.  Medicine update:  I didn't really like the Zofran.  Kept me up, and I still got sick.  Unsuccessful.  The other kind (not sure the name) helps a little more.  It makes me sleepy though so I can only take it before bed.  I didn't take anything last night, and didn't get sick.  Woo hoo!

4.  What I miss:  Deli sandwiches :(  I used to eat turkey sandwiches all the time.  I don't like warm deli sandwiches, so I'm just out of luck.

5.  Baby size:  an orange!  Aww....and he/she can yawn.  I find that incredibly cute.

6.  Cravings:  haven't had that many!  I did REALLY want candy the other night, so Jason ran up to the store and brought me back a whole array of stuff.  This is only a bit, I originally had 2 boxes of Nerds, 2 giant Sweet Tarts, and another Spree.  :)

7.  I am on the email list for Babies R Us (even though I despise that store more than anything...I get overwhelmed, and can't find anything.  First time I went in there for a shower gift I was there an hour and a half for one present.  Ridiculous.)  ANYWAYS, I am on their email list, and got a coupon for $8 off any value pack of Pampers.  Pretty good deal, and I planned to use their Swaddlers anyway.  So Jason and I made our first purchase.  We got our little newborn diapers, then there was also a coupon for $3 off wipes.  PLUS an in store deal for 50% off value box of wipes when you buy a value box of diapers.  We ended up saving like $25 total!  I should be on extreme coupon.  Anyway, we got home and this is what happens when Jason wants to practice diapers:

Don't tell PETA.

I almost forgot!!

The BEST part of our doctors appointment the other day....we have our next sonogram scheduled to find out if we're having a boy or girl!!  Can't believe I forgot to write that in my last post!  We will find out on Wednesday, August 24.  If you can't tell, I'm really excited and anxious!!  I am, however, a little sad about the fact that we find out the 24th and the Nordstrom Anniversary sale ends Aug. 1.  Just sayin.  I looked at their baby section, oh my goodness.  I could do damage.  Probably a good thing that we won't know yet, really!  I am so ready to decide how we are going to do the nursery/buy bedding/and the most fun...clothes!  Gotta know whether to buy bows or hair gel for a tiny faux hawk.  Who am I kidding...my kid is going to be bald til they're 3.  (My mom used to tape little hair bows to my head so people would know I was a girl).   I don't think I started looking like I had real hair until I was about 2 or 3, and it was blonde so even then it was hard to see :)

Alright, that is the news I almost forgot.  Get excited for August 24th!  In the meantime, I feel like I haven't given our first babies any love on here recently, so here there are!

Here's the little missy sleeping on a blanket that is on our table...good choice

And we're the two best friends that anyone could have!!

14 weeks

Today is the 14 week mark!  Exciting!  I get excited at each new week though so Thursday's are always fun!  I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and everything went really well.  We heard the heartbeat for the first time, and it was at 144 bpm.  The nurse said that was really good.  She also said that our little one was moving all over the place.  Again.  We are so screwed, I know we are going to have a super hyperactive child.  Maybe he/she just really likes the vibrations from the Doppler?   That's what I'm gonna keep telling myself.  I don't care, they can be as hyper as they want...it'll be just be more fun and interesting for Jason and I!  :)  I actually lost a pound from my 10 week appointment until yesterday's.  Dr. Read wasn't concerned about it.  I guess it's only a problem if you lose 10% of your body weight, so that was reassuring.  I knew I hadn't really gained since I've been SO SICK!  8pm rolls around, and generally I go wayyy downhill.  I have good nights, but they are few and far between.  Here is a pic this morning at 14 weeks.  I really should work on having Jason take the pic and maybe put on something besides running shorts/tshirts.  I'll work on that.

As you can see, not a whole lot of progress in the bump department.  It's there, it's just smaller than most right now.  I've actually gone back on friends' blogs and looked at their 14 week pics, and it made me kinda sad because I am nowhere near what they were! :(   A lot were already in maternity wear, which I am not.  If not in maternity wear, they were at least wearing the Bella Band with their shorts/pants.  Everything still fits me the same.  I guess I shouldn't complain, but I really want it to pop out already!!

So, I told the doctor how sick I had been.  The nurse gave me these things called "Tranquil Tummy Crackers."  They were HORRIBLE.  I tried them last night.  Absolutely awful.  Pretty sure they did not help, and actually made me throw up.  Worst things ever.  They look like Cheez Its so I was hopeful, but nope.  Disgusting.    I do not recommend them for anyone.  Ever.  They did however give me a prescription that is safe for me to take for nausea.  I'm going to try it for the first time tonight and see if it helps.  I'll keep ya posted.

We went home last weekend for our BVN Class of '01 Reunion.  Not as exciting as I had hoped!  It was fun to see everyone, but it got old pretty quick.  A: I couldn't drink.  B: It was a bajillion degrees outside (did I mention it was an outdoor event?) and C: well...can't think of a C.  We didn't get home until almost 2am which caused this girl to be super sick the entire drive back to Texas the next day.  Blah.  I feel like I am still recovering.  No more late nights til this baby is out!!

On a fun note, we got a stroller and car seat!!  This was our first purchase for little Baby O, so I was really excited.  My mom, Jason, Terry, and I went to a sale at USA Baby on Saturday morning while we were in town.  Jason was game because we were doing First Watch after the baby store.  We were there early, and scored an awesome deal on our stroller/car seat.  I'm about as excited about our stroller as when I got Louboutins for my birthday...oh change in priorities.

Pics taken from my cell, so not the clearest but you get the idea.  The seat is so little!  Love the black and white...cute for boy or girl :)  Can't wait to put our little monkey in it!  Thank you to Terry and my mom for our fabulous stroller!  Baby O will look very fashionable in it.  Alright that's all for now!

The news is out!!

FINALLY!!  It feels like Jason and I have been keeping this baby news a secret FOREVER.  We probably wouldn't have waited to the 11 week mark had we lived closer to our parents.  We both really wanted to see our parents reactions in person, so it was worth it to us to keep it a secret until we headed home!  First of all, we did tell a few people before our families were in on the secret.  I told my best friends Laura and Carrie pretty much right when I found out (I had to tell someone, it was driving me crazy).  So here's how we told everyone the news:
We were planning on waiting until we got home to tell everyone, but my dad decided last minute to stop in Dallas for a few days on a business trip.  I had been feeling horrible, and pretty much sick every single night so there was no way we could keep it a secret for the 4 days he was here.  Worked out well that he was coming the weekend before father's day...so I told him with his father's day present!  I got him a wallet (his was in sad shape) and put our first sonogram picture in it.  He was really excited and wanted to call my mom immediately...but he had to keep it a secret now too!!  So he had 2 weeks to keep his mouth shut, which I'm sure was pretty hard for him.  We planned a dinner with my mom, dad, brothers, Courtney, and Patrick.  We had a private room at Hereford House (luckily I was over my meat aversion by the time this dinner came around).  My dad made a speech, as he does sometimes, and then I gave Patrick a little onesie that said "This little monkey is going to be a big cousin."  I think my mom was the only one that was really shocked, which I found really funny.  She immediately started crying.  Christopher, Brett, and Courtney were surprised, but not really...I think they knew it was coming.  I know Christopher did.  Wish I had gotten pictures, oops!!

After dinner, we headed back to the O'Bryan's house.  Jason had gotten a card for his mom with a gift card towards a flight to Dallas.  He wrote something along the lines of "After you go visit new baby Cullen, use this to get a flight up to Dallas to see new baby O'Bryan."  Jayme found out Mark will be in San Antonio for the season this year, so they will be close!  Ya!  Jordyn was in town, and she already knew...so it was mainly excitement from his mom and dad.  Sooo happy everyone knows!!

On another note:  this past week I went up to Minnesota with Brett, Courtney, Christopher, and Patrick to spend a weekend at Courtney's parents lakehouse.  It was beautiful up there!  It was such a nice departure from the 105 degree TX weather to 75-80 degrees every day.  We didn't even need air conditioning!  The house was all opened up, and I slept better than I had my entire pregnancy so far.  Fresh air does wonders.  It was such a great trip, and I really got to get to know Patrick's little personality.  He is the sweetest baby in the world!  He'll be serious staring you down and all you have to do is say hi to him and he'll break out in a huge smile.  So cute.  Here are some pics from our trip:

I also have been really bad about getting more belly pics.  I really planned on doing them every week...but I have forgotten a couple of weeks.  Oh well.  So here are a few in a row!

                                                           9 weeks...I call it a lump, not a bump

10 weeks, kind of dark sorry

12 weeks, first trimester done!  Big milestone

I definitely see a difference from 10 weeks to 12.  I am hoping it pops out really soon and I have definitive bump so people can actually tell that I'm pregnant!  Okay..that is all I have for now.  Sorry for the wordy post, I will try to not bunch so much stuff in at once next time!  Glad everyone can stay updated on the baby now from far away!

7 weeks and counting...

So I'm writing in the blog, but not posting these right now since we don't want everyone knowing about the baby just yet!  Well...technically no one really knows about the blog yet either, so you can read back as far as you want (since I started the blog when we began THINKING about a baby).   We haven't told our parents yet, and if my mom somehow heard this news through the grapevine I'm pretty sure she'd die.

Anyway, the whole reason I wanted to start a blog was so that we could go back years down the road and look at exactly what was happening in our lives at this point!  It's a great scrapbook, if you will.  Since I am horrible at scrapbooking (still have all my wedding stuff sitting in a box in the hall closet), I am hoping I can keep up with the blog!

I am now 7 weeks and counting!  Yea!  Some things to note about how I feel at 7 weeks: horrible.  For the past week and a half-ish I have felt sick, sick, sick.  Whoever says morning sickness is just in the morning is full of crap.  Mine is all day.  I basically feel like I am hungover allllll the time.   Not a fun feeling, especially when you have no funny stories from the night before to make it more tolerable, and McDonalds breakfast doesn't really hit the spot.  I am ALWAYS feeling bad at nighttime.  Instead of morning sickness, Jason just calls it "the sickness"...as in "Ohh no the sickness is here."  He's super supportive :)  I have had some good days though where I can get some stuff done, which is nice.  The cyst is hurting me too.  I am really really hoping at our next appointment that the doctor will tell me that it has shrunk.  I don't think it has started shrinking yet since it still hurts, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I must say, I am pretty sure that I have the sweetest husband alive.  He brought me flowers, doesn't care when the house is messy because "the sickness" has been there all day, will get me anything I want for dinner, and is just all around sweet as can be with all of my pregnancy awesomeness.  I told him that I feel better when I snack throughout the day, so he went to the grocery store and got me every kind of food possible that he knows that I like.  Our pantry looks like we have a family of 7 living here.  He is so excited about becoming a daddy, and I love him to pieces!

Tummy bump wise, I don't think I've changed that much.  Everything fits the same way, but at the end of the day, I have a little pooch that sticks out right below my belly button.  I've also read that this might possibly be my cyst (since it's the size of a freaking tennis ball) sticking out as well.  Cute.  I forgot to take a picture at the 4 week mark (and 5, and 6).  Should have taken one with the pregnancy test, but what can you do.  I took one at 7 weeks, so here ya go:

Don't mind the mess in our bathroom, my cute little birthmark, or the fact that I may or may not be wearing a Mustang Softball tshirt and Phi Delt shorts that I stole from Rushbomb (who I'm sure did not shack in order the receive these shorts :)).

I am hoping that I start feeling better soon.  We have less than a month until we head home and get to tell our family and friends!  I am so excited for everyone to know...it's very hard for me to keep a secret like this.

OH!  Super fun news we found out a couple of days ago: my sister in law Jayme is pregnant too!!  We are both 7 weeks, and I could not be more excited.  She called and put Max on the phone to tell us, "Mommy's having a baby!"  We couldn't NOT tell her about our news when we got such a fun phone call.  Sooo Jayme and Mark (and Max and William) know about our news :)  I am so excited that we will have kids almost the exact same age!

On another note: Jason and I had our 3 year wedding anniversary on Tuesday!  The last 3 years have flown by, and we are happier than ever.  I got Jason our wedding invitation printed in stone.  Kinda random, but really cool all the same.  It's a piece of home decor that is a fun keepsake.  His gift to me is having one of my grandmother's handbags restored for me!  I was lucky enough to be the only girl granddaughter, so I got all of Mamaw's designer purses when she passed away.  I love her bags, but a couple of them are showing there vintage-ness.  So I am getting it restored!  Brand new handbag, ya!  Pretty excited, plus I think it's neat knowing that she carried them as well.  Here is the stone I got Jason:

Kind of blurry, but you get the idea.  Alright, that's us at the 7 week mark!

New Baby O'Bryan!

As you can tell by the title of this post, we are pregnant!  It still is pretty weird to say that out loud/type it.  On Wednesday, May 11 I was packing to head back to KC for baby Patrick's baptism.  I had been feeling kinda weird for the past few days, and just had that urge to take a test.  When I start thinking about it, it's inevitable that I'm gonna head to CVS.  This is news that you just have to know.  Problem was, I wasn't late yet...but hey, I'll check anyways.  So, lo and behold, I take the test and there is a super faint second line on the test.  I head straight to google to find out what this means.  Basically it means your newly pregnant...I really didn't believe it though.  Jason came home, and I told him within about 10 seconds of him walking in the door.  I had all of these great plans to tell him in a cute way whenever it did happen...but no.  I am horrible at secrets, and this is one that I couldn't keep!!  I think we both were just kind of in shock.  I don't think that either of us really expected it to happen that quick. We had only been trying for 2 months.

So, I took another test the next day...same result.  Tiny faint line.  I was getting frustrated because I really just wanted to know!!  Couldn't it just have two dark lines like it shows on the package??  We were back in KC by that time, and I am having to keep this from all of my family and friends.  Easier said than done.  So, on Saturday afternoon I bought a digital one.  These are foolproof and either say Yes with a plus sign or No with a negative sign.  Even I can't misjudge that test!  3 minutes later, there's a Yes and a plus sign!  Ya!!  Crazy.  And then..yep I took another one.  Total of 4 tests.  I don't know why I thought that the tests were lying to me....but whatever, it's big news to take in!!

As we always do whenever we are back home, we made plans each night to go out and do stuff with friends.  Friday night, we went to Trezo Vino with a bunch of my friends, and I had to "pretend drink."  That is not fun.  I learned this from my sister in law Courtney, who had to go through a whole bachelorette party drinking virgin margaritas.  Saturday, we went out to dinner with Brett, Courtney, and Christopher, and once again...fake drinking.  This basically entailed me ordering a vanilla vodka diet coke, then finding the waitress and telling them to make it just coke.  Jason is convinced that my little brother saw the bartender making my drink, but we have not told the fam yet, so I still have a month until I can see whether he knows or not.

We are going back to KC at the end of June for a wedding.  We are going to tell our families then.  I found a cute little onesie online that I want to order for Patrick that says something along the lines of "I'm the Big Cousin."  It'll be funny to see people's faces as they figure it out.  Everyone knows we were trying, so I don't know how big of a shock it will be, but it'll still be fun.

Jason and I are thrilled beyond belief.  We had our first sonogram on May 25, and found out I was exactly 5 weeks 6 days.  Making me 6 weeks 1 day today!  We got a little picture from the sonogram, but it pretty much looks like a kidney bean.  Not a whole lot to see.  I still love looking at it though!!

While at the doctor, he informed me that I have a cyst the size of a tennis ball on my uterus.  What?!  It completely freaked me out.  Still does (well, it's only 2 days later).  Dr. Read basically said there wasn't much they would do, and that he would do another sonogram when I go back in June to check and make sure it wasn't any bigger.  Apparently, with all of the hormones going through me with the pregnancy, it is causing this thing to grow.  He said that I would have cramping, and every once in awhile I might have some major pains on the right side of my abdomen.  I can't lift anything heavy, and can't do anything resembling a sit up or a crunch.  I was going to have to quit that anyways since my abs are going to be a thing of the past soon regardless.  I am hoping that it will shrink by June 22, which is my next appointment.  He said that as the baby grows, hopefully the cyst will shrink.  If it doesn't, it can obstruct the delivery...which will mean I will have to have a C-Section.  Really don't want to do that, and I really don't want it to burst, so let's just hope it shrinks!!!

Anyway, that is what is going on with us.  Jason and I are so excited, and I think it is still dawning on me that I am actually pregnant.  We are hoping and praying everything goes well with the pregnancy, and that we will get to meet our little one in January!  :)

Lots of stuff to write about!!

Sooo much stuff has been going on recently it's crazy!  Jason and I just got home to TX after being gone almost a week and a half up to KC/Mexico!  We drove home (with the doggies of course) on Wednesday, January 26th to get home for Jordyn's wedding.  The wedding was great--we had the rehearsal dinner at Brio (of course) and then the wedding was at Club 2000 above the Cashew.  Here's Jordyn and Jeff in their father/daughter dance:
The wedding couldn't have gone better, and then the next day we all got to leave for CANCUN!  We could not have picked a better week to go to Mexico.  The entire United States was pretty much under a giant cold front/massive storm.  Dallas pretty much shut down, and KC was out of commission with 5 foot drifts!  All the while, we were on the beach drinking pina coladas :)  We had perfect weather every day, and really couldn't have asked for a better trip.  Well...take that back.  The Monday of our trip I was SICK. AS. A. DOG.  Came down with the flu that had been going around the previous week.  Big surprise since my immune system is teeny tiny and I catch everything.  And then, of course, Jason came down with it the next day.  I tried telling him to stay away from me, but he came and checked on me throughout the day anyways...sweet but not smart :)  So ya, other than that the trip was great!  The resort was gorgeous, as well as all inclusive.  This is always good when you have a group that wants to drink all day, plus have breakfast, lunch, late lunch, early dinner, late dinner, and midnight snack :)

Jason and Will on Jeff and Terry's balcony, not a bad view!!

                                                                The ziplining crew

Jeff ready to ATV!!

Everyone was FILTHY after the ATV's, so fun!!
The Wednesday that we were there most of the group went ziplining!  That was an awesome experience, and I would highly recommend it!  It was more fun than scary, so even if you don't like "adventurous" stuff, you'd probably like zip lining.  We got to do 12 different zip lines so you really were able to get comfortable doing it.  I went down upside down on one of the runs...greatness. The guy went behind me and spun me around in circles while we were going down the line, it was so fun.  Tried to peer pressure Jason into doing it, but that did not so much work.  Oh well...maybe next time :)
After the ziplines, we went ATVing.  Another thing I would highly recommend!  We did some MAJOR off-roading...so fun.  We had such a great time on the trip, and can't thank Jason's parents enough for sending us all there.  It was so great to spend time with everyone, and really get a chance to hang out with our nephews Max and Will!  They have the funniest little personalities, and I love the fact that they really know us now!  You just kinda want to eat little Max up when he says "My Jason, My Angie!"  Too cute for words.   We are definitely going to be doing more family trips in the future!

The trip was over Saturday, and we were all really sad to say goodbye to Mexico, knowing the weather that we were returning to.  I was however pretty excited to get back home to our house and regular routine.  As soon as we got home, Jason and I lounged the whole night watching the Super Bowl and catching up on our DVR.  Pretty perfect evening I would say!

Another important thing coming up:  Brett's baby!!  I am heading home on the 19th (if not sooner depending on Courtney's progress) and I cannot wait to meet my new little nephew!  There will definitely be a post on that when I get back from visiting the little guy!!  I bet he's gonna be just like Brett and come out wearing a polo and a sweater vest with perfectly combed hair, haha.

On a new, exciting note: Jason and I have OFFICIALLY started trying to get pregnant!  Crazy.  We are so excited/nervous/anxious for this next phase in our life.  Weird to think that at this time next year we could be a little family of 3.  Well....5 really, can't forget about Bailey and Riley :)
